I am licensed in Maryland in Acupuncture for over 15 years and am Board Certified in Oriental Medicine with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). I currently serve on the Maryland Board of Acupuncture.
I hold a Diploma in Acupuncture from the Maryland Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a Certificate in Chinese Herbology from the Tai Sophia Institute.

Before becoming an acupuncturist, I worked as a Registered Nurse for 33 years in a variety of hospital clinical settings.
My educational background, nursing experience, and acupuncture/herbal training enable me to assist people with a wide range of health challenges. My focus is to help people recognize their healthcare priorities and support them as they take an active role in their health management and well-being.
I also hosted a talk radio show with www.voiceamerica.com called “Sticking to the Point: Natural Medicine Radio with Sheryl Hongsermeier.”
